Am vergangenen Samstagabend galt es zum ersten Mal so richtig ernst. Die Saison 24/25 konnte starten. In unserer Heimhalle in Zug erwarteten wir die Gegnerinnen aus dem Emmental.
Nach der Übergabe des Mobiliar Topscorer-Shirts an unseren Captain Ivana Šupáková konnte es losgehen. Während der ersten Einsätze fokussierten wir auf unsere ersten zwei Linien, um mit voller Fahrt ins Spiel starten zu können. Dies gelang aber nicht wie gewünscht; bereits nach 55 Sekunden konnten die Skorps ihr erstes Tor bejubeln. Kurz darauf folgte bereits das 0:2. Nach der Hälfte des ersten Drittels hatten wir die Chance, im Powerplay unseren ersten Saisontreffer zu erzielen. Doch auch dies missglückte gründlich, mussten wir den Skorps gar einen Shorthander zugestehen. Kurze Zeit später konnten unsere Gegnerinnen die Gelegenheit nutzen und durch einen weiteren Treffer mit 0:4 davonziehen. Eine Reaktion musste her, um den Anschluss nicht vollständig zu verlieren. Ein kleiner Lichtblick war der Treffer zum 1:4. Wir zeigten aber weiterhin kein gutes Spiel und so wurden wir eine Minute vor Schluss des ersten Drittels erneut mit einem Gegentreffer bestraft. Mit einem Zwischenstand von 1:5 und hängenden Köpfen gingen wir in die erste Drittelspause. So hatte sich niemand den Start in die neue Saison vorgestellt.
Es blieben jedoch noch 40 Minuten zu spielen und damit definitiv genügend Zeit, den Fehlstart im 1. Drittel zu korrigieren. Uns war klar, dass wir eine Reaktion zeigen und unser Können auf das Feld bringen mussten. Während der ersten Hälfte des Mitteldrittels konnten wir dem Druck der Skorps standhalten und liessen keine Tore mehr zu. In der Offensive lief jedoch nicht alles rund. Wir waren etwas ideenlos und konnten nur wenige Torchancen herausspielen, welche aber nicht verwertet werden konnten. Und wie sagt man schön sagt: «Wer die Tore nicht macht, bekommt sie». Die Skorps erhöhten mit einem Dreierpack innerhalb von sieben Minuten auf 1:8 erhöhen.
Das Resultat nach 40 Minuten sprach für sich selbst. Nach dem schwachen Start im ersten Drittel konnten wir unsere Leistung nicht wirklich steigern und liessen in unserer Defensive zu viel zu. Nun hiess es alles oder nichts und die verbleibenden 20 Minuten zu nutzen, unsere Fehler aus den ersten beiden Drittel auszubügeln.
Der Anfang des letzten Drittels gelang gut und verlief wie gewünscht. Nach bereits einer Minute konnten wir unser zweites Tor erzielen. Die Freude hielt jedoch nicht lange an. In der 44. Minute schossen unsere Gegnerinnen das nächste Tor und danach noch weitere drei bis zum Schlusspfiff. Auf unserer Seite der Anzeigetafel blieb die zwei stehen. Es war definitiv ein Spiel, mit welchem wir uns nicht zufriedengeben dürfen. Wir konnten unsere Leistung zu keiner Zeit abrufen und verloren das Spiel deutlich. Nun heisst es, Kopf hoch und nach vorne schauen. Denn bereits am Sonntag geht es weiter und wir wollen zeigen, was wir können. Wir starten in der Stadthalle Zug ins Viertelfinal des Champions Cup.
